Residential or commercial refrigerators are the most useful appliances to keep food and drinks fresh and safe with cold temperature, which is controlled by a refrigeration unit. A refrigeration unit is a circulating system that has liquid refrigerant sealed inside, the refrigerant is pushed by a compressor to circularly flow in the system and is vaporized to become gas and draw heat out of the cabinet. The vaporized refrigerant warms up to change back into liquid once it passes through the condenser outside the refrigerator.
In the past decades, early refrigerators commonly operate with a static cooling system to keep food and drink cool. As technology has developed, most refrigeration products come with a dynamic cooling system, which has more benefits to meet today's requirements.
What’s Static Cooling System?
Static cooling system is also called as direct cooling system, which is designed to attach the evaporator coils to the interior back wall. When the evaporator draws heat, the air nearby the coil gets cold fastly and move without its circulation being powered by anything. But the air still moves slowly around, as the cold air nearby the evaporator coils descends down when it becomes denser, and the warm air ascends up as it’s less dense than cold air, so these cause natural and slow air convection.
What’s Dynamic Cooling System?
It's the same as static cooling system, refrigerators with a dynamic cooling system have the evaporating coils at the interior back wall to cool down the air nearby, additionally, there is an inbuilt fan to force the cold air to move and distribute evenly around in the cabinet, so we also call this as fan-assisted cooling system. With a dynamic cooling system, the refrigerators can fastly cool down the foods and drinks, so they are suitable to be frequently used for commercial purposes.
Difference Between Static Cooling System & Dynamic Cooling System
- Compare with static cooling system, dynamic cooling system is better to continuously circulate and evenly distribute the cold air around inside the refrigeration compartment, and that can greatly help keep the foods fresh and safe. Furthermore, such a system can automatically defrost.
- In terms of storage capacity, refrigerators with dynamic cooling system can store more than 300 liters of items, but the units with static cooling systems are designed with a volume of fewer than 300 liters due to it can not perform air convection well in larger spaces.
- The earlier refrigerators without air circulation don’t have an auto-defrost feature, so you need to do more maintenance on this. But dynamic cooling system is very good to overcome this issue, we don’t need to spend time or worry about missing to defrost your fridge.
- However, the dynamic cooling system is not always perfect, it also has some shortcomings. As refrigerators with such a system come with more storage volume and more functions, so they need to consume more power to work. In addition, they also have some disadvantages such as loud noise and high cost.
